Together, we'll create one spring-to-spring trail from San Antonio to Austin

关于我们

Great Springs Project is working to create a greenway of contiguous protected lands between Austin and San Antonio over the Edwards Aquifer recharge zone. This green corridor will be connected by a network of spring-to-spring trails, linking four of Texas' Great Springs; Barton Springs, San Marcos Springs, Comal Springs, and San Antonio Springs. Great Springs Project envisions unifying existing local efforts to address the most critical water, land, wildlife, and public health challenges facing the Central Texas region.

This week, our UTSA Embrey Real Estate Finance and Development students in the Special Studies class had the incredible opportunity to dive into the Great Springs Project and learn how commercial real estate, finance, and sustainability intersect! Students learned how large-scale conservation efforts intersect with real estate development and gained a deeper understanding of the environmental, economic, and community impact of this great projects! A huge thank you to Sarah Esserlieu Khalil and Garry Merritt for coming to campus and sharing so much outstanding information with our students!
