The Great Lakes Business Network was proud to collaborate with regional partners to identify shared policy priorities that will promote clean, healthy lakes and sustain the Great Lakes economy. This week, GLBN businesses will deliver the 2025 priorities to members of Congress during Great Lakes Week in partnership with the Healing Our Waters - Great Lakes Coalition.

Why does #FederalFunding matter for the #GreatLakes region? Here are just some of the #CleanWater successes of the federally funded Great Lakes Restoration Initiative: - Over 8,100 restoration projects have been completed or are currently underway - 7 Areas of Concern (the most polluted sites in the region) have been delisted and 9 have completed the actions necessary for delisting - 113 Beneficial Use Impairments (significant environmental degradation) have been removed - Over 6,700 river miles have been cleared of dams and barriers - Nearly 480,000 acres of habitat, including 72,000 acres of coastal wetlands have been enhanced, protected, and restored - 1.8 million farmland acres have received assistance for nutrient management action
