Great Lakes Brewing Co. (GLBC) is Ohio’s original craft brewery located in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood. Great Lakes Brewing Company has a strong commitment to recycling, waste reduction, and composting. Spent grains become soil amendment and livestock feed. Other byproducts become soup, sauces, sausage, and even soap. Much of the brewery and office waste is recycled or composted through local vendors. The award for Platinum Certification was presented to Lexie St. Denis and GLBC's Green Team on October 22. The Solid Waste District’s Business Resource Champion program recognizes and honors exceptionalism in the workplace at reducing, reusing, recycling, and composting.
