Last Friday was World Ecology Day, in our latest blog by Diana Navarro she reflected on the evolution of ecology and its critical role in protecting ecosystems under threat, like the Pantanal—the world’s largest tropical wetland. Spanning 70,000 square miles across Brazil, Paraguay, and Bolivia, the Pantanal holds one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in South America yet faces immense challenges due to wildfires and habitat loss. At Great Ecology, we understand that preserving these ecosystems is essential, not only for biodiversity but for the resilience of local communities. Through our work in wetland restoration and sustainable land management, we’re contributing to a future where humans and nature thrive together. Read more about how ecology shapes conservation efforts in vital ecosystems like the Pantanal as well as our work restoring and preserving unique landscapes over the last 23 years: https://lnkd.in/gp-VpbxR #worldecologyday #sustainability #restoration #ecologymatters #ecologicalconsulting

Migration is more than just a journey—it's a delicate balancing act between migratory birds and the insect populations they rely on. As seasonal travelers, birds cover immense distances to find food and safe nesting sites, but habitat loss, light pollution, and declining insect numbers are making these journeys harder than ever. Our latest blog by Sydney Kiser dives into the importance of insects in supporting migratory species and explores ways—big and small—we can help. ?? Discover simple actions that contribute to ecosystem health and help sustain these remarkable connections: https://lnkd.in/gMvxMs6a #Migration #Biodiversity #HabitatRestoration #EcologicalConsulting
