    Gray Reed has completed the receivership sale of 14 assisted living facilities across 7 states, with the final two properties closing in Fannie Mae v. Amelia Aid Propco, et al., Cause No. 1:23-cv-862, pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of Washington, D.C. The firm's cross-practice team of Jason Brookner, London England, Rachel (Freeman) Poynter Poynter, and Emily Bowlin successfully stewarded these transactions, delivering over $22M in value to the receivership estate. Judge Whitehill shared valuable insights with our attorneys on the new Texas Business Courts, covering their jurisdiction, judges and unique procedures.     Today we salute those who have served in a branch of our nation's military. We are proud to have 8 members of the Gray Reed family, listed and pictured below, who are veterans. Thank you for your service to our country and to Gray Reed. Happy Veteran's Day! Government Investigations & Compliance Partner Anthony Box served in the U.S. Army from 1990 to 1996 (Armor) and 2009-2022 (JAG). Chong Johnson, who works in our Office Services Department, served in the U.S. Navy from 1990 to 1993. Gray Reed Advisory Principal and Gray Reed Operations Manager and Contracts Administrator, Christopher Kinney, served in the U.S. Army (California National Guard) from 1997 to 2001 as a Combat Military Police Solider and Team Leader and E-4 (Specialist). Trusts & Estates Senior Counsel Norman Lofgren served as a U.S. Navy pilot from 1969 to 1975 (active duty) and 1975 to 1994 (reserve). He retired with the rank of Captain. Incoming 2025 Houston Associate Roger M. served as a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant (Green Beret) in the U.S. Army Special Forces (Airborne) from 2011 to 2020. Real Estate Senior Counsel Robbie Morris served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972. Tax Partner Tom Rhodus served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1975. Jarvis Robertson, who works as a Courthouse Runner in our Houston office, served in the?U.S. Navy from 1996 to 2006.
