Alex brings 13 years of industry experience to Graycor and will be responsible for overseeing project teams and project execution in our Midwest region, starting with the light industrial market. Alex was previously employed by Graycor before relocating to the west coast, and we are excited to welcome him back to the #GraycorFamily! Tim will be responsible for overseeing project execution and ensuring performance excellence on projects across our Southeast region. He comes to Graycor with eight years of industry experience, having worked on projects in the cold storage, logistics/distribution and multi-family market sectors. This past weekend, #TeamGraycor contributed to a Bed Build with the Phoenix Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. SHP is a non-profit organization that provides beds to children and families across the country. Over 150 volunteers came together to assemble 119 beds for kids in need! We enjoyed working alongside many of our partners in the commercial real estate community. September 9th-13th marks Construction Suicide Prevention Week, part of a larger effort to bring awareness to suicide prevention throughout the month of September. Construction workers die by suicide at higher rates than any other profession and, with rates on the rise, focusing on supporting mental health and wellness efforts in the industry is more important than ever. A holistic approach to safety, both physically and psychologically, is at the forefront of our efforts to ensure every worker goes home at the end of the day. Project teams are always searching for ways to increase efficiency throughout the planning and scheduling process. For some projects, the end may be the best place to start. ???? The pull planning method starts with establishing key milestones, like the project completion date, and schedules backwards from those milestones. This system makes it easy to identify what needs to be accomplished before the next activity can begin, leading to reduced inefficiencies. ????♀? A collaborative, team approach is essential to pull planning success and should include project management teams and trade partners. Involving a minimum of one member from each crew allows everyone to see how their work fits into the bigger picture, increasing ownership over individual tasks and overall buy-in on the project.
