GRASP frequently receives requests from researchers to connect them with patient advocates interested in supporting their cancer research grant applications. Each grant is different and will vary in the time commitment and requirements, but serving as the patient advocate usually involves meeting with the researcher to understand the grant in detail, writing the researcher a letter of support, and possibly attending meetings related to the project if the grant is received.
