The Top 3 Super Bowl ads, according to our Creative Director Elmer dela Cruz. #superbowl2025
Being a lifelong Seattle Seahawks fan, I didn’t have anything at stake in the Super Bowl. While being thankful that the Niners weren’t playing, it was awesome to just sit back, eat wings and critique the commercials. While the game itself lulled me to sleep, Super Bowl 2025 brought some wild ads, and my Top 3 had me either disturbed or entertained. At Number 3, Stella Artois hit us with a lost-twin story where David Beckham met his American twin—Matt Damon, aka “Other David.” They bonded over Buffalo Wings, and beer proving that a good drink can bring anyone together. There was also a nice little jab at Ben Affleck. Coming in at Number 2, Dunkin’ gave us the?DunKings, with Ben Affleck leading a celebrity coffee crew in a dramatic battle against other brands. The best part was when Jeremy Strong took method acting to the next level by literally “listening to the beans” to?become the bean.?This commercial made me want a cup of brewed beans and water and not a “Goat milk, double half-caff, soymilk cap, with a dash of Madagascar Cinnamon and half caramel latte mocha.” And at Number 1, Mountain Dew went all-out with “Kiss From A Lime,” where Seal (yes,?THE?Seal) sang a love song to a lime while people chugged Dew. It was weird, it was disturbing, and honestly, I was kinda into it. Dew remains, my power, my pleasure, my flame. What were your Top 3?
