Grantmakers of Western PA is proud to share that the City of Pittsburgh’s Food Justice Fund (FJF) Grassroots Grants are now open! Applications are due by April 14, with grants of up to $75,000 available for projects that increase food security or strengthen the local food system. A total of 1.5 million will be awarded to support initiatives like: -Distributing free food/meals -Supporting community gardens & urban agriculture -Enrolling residents in public benefits (e.g., SNAP, WIC) -Operating farmers markets -Offering food/nutrition education -Increasing access to composting -Providing food system job training Eligibility: 501(c)(3) non-profits or groups with a fiscal sponsor Annual budget of $500,000 or less Apply & Learn More: Visit bit.ly/PGHFJF for details.
