For many of us, winter in Michigan is a season filled with joy, family, and blessing.?For homeless, aged-out foster youth, this season can be absolutely brutal.?Our homes provide safe, stable, and affordable housing in a loving environment, lots of good food, mentoring, career coaching, life-skills training, and Bible study to aged-out foster youth who are wanting to set goals, grow, and make a successful transition into adulthood. https://lnkd.in/g9MPEyXA #GrantMeHope #FosterYouth #AgedOut #Homeless
关于我们
Grant Me Hope's mission is to find adoptive homes for foster children before they age out of the system alone facing homelessness. Grant Me Hope has three goals: 1.) Educate the public as to the plight of the aged-out foster child 2.) Recruit more foster homes and families to limit the number of foster children living in institutions 3.) Get as many foster children adopted as possible Grant Me Hope is a marketing initiative. We work alongside state, county and other nonprofit organizations to help them introduce foster children who are available for adoption to the public, hoping a good family will take an interest in the child. Grant Me Hope's primary program is the production of high-quality, TV broadcast-worthy one- and two-minute videos of the foster children who opt to participate in our program. These videos are done of individual children or sibling groups who wish to be adopted together. The videos are then aired on our partnering television stations (WZZM-Grand Rapids, MI; WXYZ-Detroit; WWUP-Cadillac, Traverse City, Sault St. Marie; WCPO-Cincinnati, OH; WKEF-Dayton, OH; and WRGT-Dayton; and TCT TV in Michigan and Ohio), used on our website and on social media. The videos are meant to be an introduction to the foster child/children in that video in hopes of spurring interest by a potential family. The children we work with are foster children who's parental rights have been severed and therefore available for adoption by a new parent or parents. Our state, county and nonprofit organizations that work with foster children work very hard for them. But unfortunately some do not identify a new family before aging out of the system. It's those children, those who are close to aging out and who are facing adulthood alone without a family to love, guide and support them, that Grant Me Hope focuses on. Each year in America more than 23,000 children (young adults) age out of the foster care system. Twenty-five percent will experience homelessness.

As you know, there is about a month until #Christmas. . . We'd like to give you an option for giving to #FosterChildren while your #shopping. Our friends over at #JCPenney, Woodland Mall, have been raising money for Grant Me Hope all year. Their original goal was $5.000 - they surpassed it. They raised it to $10,000, earned that by September and became our elite sponsor for our annual FUNFEST! Now, they've raised more than $13,000! We are floored! Now they've set a goal of $15,000 by year end. Head on over to #WoodlandMall - help our friends reach their goal AND give hope to foster children this holiday season. And be well!

Brayden is a hoot! He is all smiles and a ray of sunshine! Going by his happy and carefree attitude, you'd think he has it all - but he doesn't - he doesn't have a #momanddad or the #brother and #sister he longs for. . . because he is a #Michigan #FosterChild who hopes to be #Adopted. Brayden hopes his #ForeverFamily lives in the #country because boy does he love the great #outdoors! He'd kinda like a #cat too . . . and we think he deserves one! In honor of the 10 year anniversary of our first video shoot (November 2014) give $10 and help us raise enough to give hope to 10 more #FosterChildren who also hope for a #Adoption and a #ForeverHome of their own. https://gmh10.cbo.io

***** 10 YEARS AGO TODAY ***** November 14, 2014, Barb Aalderink and the talented videographers from Fusion Graphic Consultants conducted the first video shoot for Grant Me Hope. This day came just shy of two of months from the date Founder Helen Zeerip had an idea and started the ball rolling. She needed state approval to do the work, she needed a local TV station willing to partner (@wzzm13 and Catherine Behrendt were our first!) and she needed talented people behind the camera! As Helen says all the time, "It was such a God thing!" that it all came together that quickly! To mark our 10th anniversary, we're asking YOU to give a mere $10. Read about our history and give $10 at https://lnkd.in/gQzSRje2 Celebrate this momentous occasion with us!
