关于我们
The Grant County EDC helps bring new employers to Grant County that create jobs for local residents, provide a stable tax base, and make us less vulnerable to economic declines. Since 1998 the Grant County EDC has recruited 17 companies that provide over 2,500 jobs for the residents of our local communities. On average, these new jobs pay roughly $50,000 a year, much more than the county average wage of $32,500. The EDC has also provided assistance to an additional 15 companies already located in the community. These companies provide over 2,250 jobs for local residents. Combine all these jobs plus the indirect jobs they create and it adds up to over 8,000 people employed. These jobs are making a real difference in the local economy by providing stable employment, great wages, and increased spending at local retail and service businesses.

What an honor it was to tour the new Samaritan Hospital this past Friday in Moses Lake. Led by Samaritan Healthcare’s CEO, Theresa Sullivan, MBA, FACHE, and leaders of Graham Construction, it wasn’t too early to see the materializing vision of exceptional local healthcare for our region. Featuring an expanded emergency department, increased surgical capacity, and improved access to ancillary services like laboratory and imaging, the new hospital will also host inpatient rooms with increased privacy and space for families, a separate corridor for movement of staff and supplies, and a new mother and baby unit with an advanced nursery. Wow. Just. Wow! Thank you so much for the invitation, Samaritan Healthcare, and thank you for bringing this level of hope and promise to our region! Bravo! You can survey the progress of this new hospital by going to Samaritan’s daily photo updates: https://lnkd.in/gD36r4NQ #GrantCountyWa #GrantEDC #BuildCommunity

We're grateful for the invitation. Thank you, Rep. Dan Newhouse for visiting, and thank you, Sila Nanotechnologies, Inc. for being an amazing host for this forum.
Today we had the honor of hosting U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse for a tour of our Moses Lake plant, followed by a town hall discussion with community partners, and Sila employees. This event highlighted the crucial collaboration between policymakers and private industry. Our Head of Government Affairs, Alex Fitzsimmons moderated a fruitful conversation focused on the role that Sila and Grant County play in driving new #energy innovation, enhancing the U.S. #battery supply chain, and developing a #workforce for the future. We also want to thank our community partners Sara Thompson Tweedy, President of Big Bend Community College, Christine Armstrong, Director of Columbia Basin Technical Skills Center, Rhyanne Berryman, MBA, Director of Business Retention and Expansion at Grant County Economic Development Council, and Dan Roach, Executive Director of the Port of Moses Lake, for participating in the event and their continued collaboration. #communityengagement #workforcedevelopment? #grantcountywa ?#Sila #MosesLake

We were delighted to present at the Rotary Club of Moses Lake during their weekly meeting yesterday. Attendees had the opportunity to hear from our Executive Director, Brant Mayo, alongside our on-site Business Advisor from the Washington State Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Brandon Nicholas. The presentation provided a comprehensive overview of Grant EDC's involvement in regional economic development, highlighted resources accessible to businesses, and addressed the macro-level challenges impacting economic development both within and beyond Grant County. Great questions and discussions, too! Thank you, Rotary Club of Moses Lake, for this opportunity! #partnershipinprosperity #GrantCountyWa #GrantEDC

Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of hosting the Clean & Prosperous Institute at our Moses Lake plant for a discussion about our technology, company growth, and community impact. Our Plant Manager, Rosendo Alvarado, and Director of Engineering, Maik Duwensee, Ph.D, lead the discussion and was joined by esteemed community partners: Sara Thompson Tweedy, President of Big Bend Community College, Richard Hanover, Director of Business Development for the Port of Moses Lake, and Brant Mayo, Executive Director of the Grant County Economic Development Council. The Clean & Prosperous Institute is dedicated to advancing practical and innovative solutions for a cleaner, more prosperous future. We appreciate their continued interest in our work and mission to power the world’s transition to clean energy. We want to thank Gustavo Occhiuzzo from EVCS for sponsoring the Clean & Prosperous Washington delegation for this visit. We also want to give a special shout-out to several Washington state officials, Senator Joseph Nguyen, Representative Stephanie Barnard, Representative Jake Fey, and Representative David Hackney, for joining us for the discussion and tour. #CleanEconomy #Collaboration #SustainableFuture #SilaInnovation #Sila #GrantCountyWa #MosesLake
