Loading up Graniterock aggregate at dawn to supply our concrete and asphalt plants across the San Francisco Bay Area. Each rail car we ship takes four semi-trucks off the road, which reduces congestion and lowers emissions while keeping projects on track (literally!).

Graniterock was honored to receive official proclamations from Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas, Senator John Laird and Assemblymember Dawn Addis in recognition of our 125-year anniversary! These proclamations celebrate Graniterock’s deep roots in California and our commitment to our people, customers and communities. The milestone was marked with a special 125th birthday celebration at our Watsonville headquarters, where team members gathered to reflect on the company's history and incredible journey ahead. ????????

As Graniterock celebrates 125 years of building, we welcomed local media to Wilson Quarry for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour. Reporters got a firsthand look at our operations, from the massive haul trucks to the crushing that keeps our aggregates flowing for roads, bridges and infrastructure across the region. A big thank you to Erik Chalhoub and Monterey County Weekly for capturing the essence of our history, innovation and commitment to the future. Check out Erik's article to learn more about how Wilson Quarry has shaped the Central Coast for over a century! https://bit.ly/43dB13C

King of the Quarry, for sure. Thanks for capturing the beauty of mining in all of your work, Aaron Witt. We're ready for your next visit!
The D11T— King of the Castle. I’ll never get tired of walking mines and job sites. Every visit’s a gamble—new terrain, new iron, and new weather. Some days, you strike gold. Others, you’re just dodging mudslides. This day? Pure gold. Caught the Graniterock crew mid-surgery on a D11 undercarriage.

Did you know John Steinbeck was part of a Graniterock paving crew? In the 1930s, before he became one of America’s greatest writers, Steinbeck worked on a Graniterock crew helping to build the road between Salinas and Castroville, nicknamed Cauliflower Boulevard, which is now Highway 183! This stretch of road was a lifeline for the region’s booming agriculture, carrying truckloads of fresh produce to market. Who knew that amid the dust and asphalt, a future Nobel Prize-winning author was soaking in the struggles of the working class, experiences that would later shape his famous novels? As we celebrate 125 years of Graniterock this week, we honor the people (and authors!) who built the roads that keep California moving. Got a favorite Graniterock memory or story? Drop it in the comments! #125yearsofbuilding
