EDUCATION ONLY FOR THE RICH? Project 2025 wants to dismantle the US Department of Education. The authors want education to be handled at the state level. In New Hampshire and many other states, libertarians are seeking to downshift the responsibility from the state to towns. Supposedly, this gives towns the "choice" of how much to spend on education. But we're headed down a rocky slope. The next administration -- and state residents -- are not in for a smooth ride, especially if a new administration in DC begins slashing federal departments and budgets. Or pocketing them. Muzzle-public-servants bill, being promoted by ALEC and Koch's Young Americans for Liberty in dozens of states, went down in flames in NH. A bipartisan 211-129 killed this pay-to-have-your-say bill, voting HB1479 "Indefinitely postponed." Watch out for it in your state!
Texas Young Americans for Liberty are spending millions to turn New Hampshire into their model "Libertarian Homeland."
