My favorite part of Expo ??? (Hint: It is not the endless samples, hoarding beef jerky for my cousin, stacking up on free product coupons, or trying tons of Stevia sweetened beverages.) It is the PEOPLE. Reconnecting with industry colleagues who I now get to call friends ?? and meeting new ones in real life. Truly, there is no better highlight. Here are some of the incredible humans and professionals I had the pleasure of meeting again or for the first time (hopefully the first of many): Pat Cordova - It was amazing to reconnect and I am so glad you found a great work home at Riega Foods LLC spices. For those who do not know, Riega is a leading provider of high quality organic spices and a family owned company dedicated to doing things right. I learned they test every single lot for heavy metals, which speaks volumes about their commitment to quality. If you are looking for a top tier spice supplier, this is one to know. Kyle Gaither and the team at Grandy Organics - If you read my post fromast week I hope you stopped by their booth and tried their amazing organic certified granola and grain free options. Another family owned company that truly does things the right way with a fantastic culture and work ethic. This is a must buy! Carlos Gil - It was so great to reconnect and see your success at Apex Global. Carlos is an incredible person and an even better professional. Hope to see you again very soon! Matt Tom - I met Matt 15 years ago while working at a USDA research facility in California. He is now a consultant in the CPG space. If you need help scaling operations, selecting the right equipment or setting up a facility, Matt is the person to talk to. He has a rare gift, an engineer who can simplify complex topics in a way anyone can understand. One of the smartest people I have ever met and an all around great human. I hope we get to collaborate soon! Anthony Drost - It was amazing to finally meet in person! Anthony has been with Silva International, Inc. for 18 years and that speaks volumes about this great company. They offer a range of dried fruit and vegetable ingredients including flakes and powders for brands looking to enhance flavor, nutrition and vegetable content in the most natural way possible. Matt Whiteside - I have been following Matt for a while on LinkedIn hoping we could work together. Now that reality seems closer than ever. Looking forward to it! It was great meeting you. There are so many more incredible people I could mention but to avoid spamming you with endless selfies, this is just a small sample of the professionals and companies truly moving the needle in our industry. They might not be globally famous (yet) but they are making a real and meaningful impact every day. I look forward to many more conversations and collaborations ahead! Wrapping up an amazing week at Expo West! ??? This was an incredibly successful experience for our team FULL of opportunities to connect with like-minded brands, vendors, and industry professionals in the organic space. From insightful educational panels to shooting fresh content and building lasting relationships, we're leaving more inspired than ever. We're so pumped that our amazing team continues to grow! Holly Newberry recently joined us to head up Sales Operations and Trade Management. She's spent the majority of her career in the organic and natural CPG industry with a focus on sales and marketing so we're pretty darn lucky to have her! Holly is already bringing a lot of creative, positive, and hard working energy to our team and she's just getting started. When she's not driving growth at Grandy, she's hanging with her husband, her fur babies and her kids, oh... and doing Zumba ?? Welcome aboard, Holly!!!
