I didn’t expect to be leading any project in my internship Reagan Marketing + Design, but I was able to jump in and lead our collaboration with Summer Art Camp Grand Rapids Art Museum and I got so much out of it. To deliver this year’s theme, “experimenting with different mediums,” I worked with our team on mediums for the different age groups. Week one was with the 4-6 age group and we had campers painting with bubbles – it was crazy, fun and messy! Weeks 2 through 6 covered ages 4-15 and we had campers creating patterns with different shapes and colors - anything their minds could imagine. The activities were a huge hit with the campers, many of them wanting to continue these activities and not move onto the next. It is a privilege to be surrounded by such a great team and to volunteer with the Grand Rapids Art Museum’s Summer Art Camp, one of Reagan Marketing + Design’s longstanding community collaborations. Thanks to the volunteers who help make it a success, and thank you to the Grand Rapids Art Museum for inviting us to come in and have some fun with the campers!

Happy Earth Day! ?? Did you know that GRAM is the world's first LEED? Gold certified art museum?USGBC Central Coast Green Building Council Here are 5 ways we keep our operations environmentally friendly. ??? Rainwater is collected from our roof to water our plants and flush our toilets, saving nearly 250,000 gallons of city treated water per year. ?? 75% of our waste is diverted from landfills by sorting recyclable and compostable materials (approximately 20 yards per month). ?? GRAM was constructed from recycled materials. The drywall was made from 98% recycled Synthetic Gypsum, while the carpet was made from recycled pop bottles. ?? 70% of the museum uses natural light, featuring UV-treated glass windows that result in energy savings all year long. ?? GRAM's white roof helps reduce the amount of heat absorbed by the building, plus our 8,100 square feet of courtyard and garden space lower the "heat island" effect caused by paved surfaces. These are just a few of the ways GRAM seeks to create an earth friendly and art friendly environment in downtown Grand Rapids. #earthday #grandrapidsartmuseum

Join us in congratulating GRAM staff, Michael Catching II and Supriya Gupta on their new roles at the Museum. ?? Michael joined GRAM as Membership Manager in 2021. He’s been pivotal in growing Museum membership and coordinating events that bring the community together and make the GRAM Member experience special. We are excited for his transition to Manager of Community Engagement where he will be able to focus on developing programs with community partners and continue to play an important part in the Museum’s growth. Supriya will be GRAM’s new Membership Coordinator. She has worn many hats at the Museum. Starting as a Gallery Attendant and then serving as a Visitor Services Associate, Supriya brings extensive knowledge of the visitor experience to her new role as the face of membership. If you see Michael or Supriya during your next visit to GRAM, give them a high five for their great work!
