Upon entering "Lee Alexander McQueen & Ann Ray: Rendez-Vous," the new exhibit at Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM), you’re immediately transported into the world of the late iconic British designer Lee Alexander McQueen and French photographer Ann Ray. ???? The pair’s 13-year friendship and intimate creative collaboration is explored through the display of over 50 spectacular pieces by McQueen spanning 1994 to 2010, alongside nearly 70 photographs by Ann Ray, who McQueen personally selected to photograph his design process and the behind-the-scenes experience of his runway shows. Starting tomorrow, forward-thinking garment designs from KCAD Fashion Studies students will be showcased alongside the groundbreaking work of fashion icon Alexander McQueen at the Grand Rapids Art Museum as part of the incredible ?????? ?????????????????? ?????????????? & ?????? ??????: ????????????-???????? exhibition! ?? ?? Join us at GRAM Thursday night at 5pm for the Visionnaire Series: KCAD Fashion Panel, where Fashion Studies Program Chair Lori Faulkner will be joined by KCAD alum and fashion designer Dominique McNeal of Dominique Alyse Studios, Jovan Naves of Bare All Clothing, and fashion stylist Tanasia Najae to explore Michigan's emerging fashion scene. Since joining GRAM in 2021 as Assistant Curator, Terra has played an essential role in the research, development, and implementation of the Museum's exhibitions. ? Most recently, Terra led the curation of GRAM's current exhibition Lee Alexander McQueen & Ann Ray: Rendez-Vous, bringing the visionary work of McQueen and Ray to life in our galleries. We are thrilled to have Terra on our team as we continue our mission to connect people through art, creativity, and design. ? Congratulations, Terra!

I didn’t expect to be leading any project in my internship Reagan Marketing + Design, but I was able to jump in and lead our collaboration with Summer Art Camp Grand Rapids Art Museum and I got so much out of it. To deliver this year’s theme, “experimenting with different mediums,” I worked with our team on mediums for the different age groups. Week one was with the 4-6 age group and we had campers painting with bubbles – it was crazy, fun and messy! Weeks 2 through 6 covered ages 4-15 and we had campers creating patterns with different shapes and colors - anything their minds could imagine. The activities were a huge hit with the campers, many of them wanting to continue these activities and not move onto the next. It is a privilege to be surrounded by such a great team and to volunteer with the Grand Rapids Art Museum’s Summer Art Camp, one of Reagan Marketing + Design’s longstanding community collaborations. Thanks to the volunteers who help make it a success, and thank you to the Grand Rapids Art Museum for inviting us to come in and have some fun with the campers!

The Grand Rapids Art Museum's Learning and Creativity team was recently invited to Harvard University to take part in a series of workshops organized by Project Zero, Harvard Graduate School of Education. During our visit, we had the opportunity to: ? Attend sessions exploring a variety of creative learning approaches ? Interact with leading educators from around the world ? Participate in a VIP session with Project Zero leadership ? Make our way through six Boston-area Museums We’re excited to carry forward our learnings here in Grand Rapids as we continue the work of creating exceptional art and learning experiences at GRAM.
