Board Member, Dr. Suggs has made remarkable contributions to St. Louis as a dentist, publisher, entrepreneur, and community leader. From serving as chief of oral surgery at Dover Air Force Base to becoming the first African American Associate Clinical Professor at Saint Louis University Dental School, Dr. Suggs has always been a trailblazer. As the esteemed publisher of the St. Louis American, he has elevated it to one of the nation's largest and most influential African American newspapers. His unwavering dedication to social justice, economic empowerment, and education for African Americans has left an indelible mark on our community. We’re deeply grateful to the over 70 volunteers and supporting organizations who joined Grand Center Inc. for our 8/23 cleanup. Thanks to their collective effort—donating over 180 hours of service—we were able to remove garbage and weeds from 9 blocks in the District, including Strauss Park. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the City of St. Louis Neighborhood Stabilization Team, Metrotix, The Fabulous Fox Theatre, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Jazz St. Louis, and many others. Your commitment to our community is truly appreciated!
