With the multi-year, multi-phase restoration project of the Alamo currently underway, I thought it would be worth sharing a look back at a striking photograph GCC received of a remarkable, creative project built by our troops during their deployment to Iraq several years ago. "Remember the Alamo!"

We are on our second deployment in two years aboard USS Carl Vinson and were part of the 2024 Rim of the Pacific exercise between deployments, and now we have been at sea for 10 of the last 18 months... Your thoughtful support means a great deal to the Dragon pilots, officers, and Sailors. We distributed the cookies and cards to the Command yesterday, and everyone was incredibly excited and grateful for them. I am personally grateful for your team's support to those in uniform, and especially grateful that you thought of us.

SEABEES - ALWAYS READY TO HELP! Last week, a convoy full of Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 11 were returning from an exercise in Louisiana when they observed a car accident and submerged vehicle off of I-10 outside New Orleans. Upon seeing two elderly motorists stranded inside, they dove straight into the swamp to carry them to safety. After bringing the motorists to dry land, our Corpsman onsite assessed everyone involved in the accident for injuries while the Bees returned to the vehicle to recover personal property. Once the scene was turned over to local emergency services, the convoy was back on the road and returned safely to Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport.
