Once focused solely on providing food, the Food Bank now offers comprehensive social and medical services in collaboration with community partners. As the demand for their services grew, the Food Bank set out to establish a permanent, welcoming home that would fully support its mission—transforming an abandoned brownfield site into a vibrant community resource. We’re excited to share that the new Technology Campus Amenity received an?IIDA Northern Pacific Chapter?2024 INaward in the INhospitality category at last night’s award ceremony – congratulations to the entire project team! Graham Baba collaborated with?LMN Architects?to create 90,000-square-feet of new dining and retail spaces encompassing nearly the entire ground floor of two buildings inside this 17-building, 70-acre redevelopment at the core of the global technology company’s corporate campus in Redmond, Washington. Vitus Headquarters, Seattle Built by Graham Baba Architects and designed by Charlie Hellstern Interior Design, the penthouse captures a sophisticated residential feeling. Vitus, a company focused on acquiring, improving, and preserving affordable housing nationwide, was in need of new office space. As an extension of their ethos of investing in communities, the company bought an overlooked 25,000-square-foot, 1920s-era building in the Belltown neighborhood of downtown Seattle. The four-story, heavy timber-and-masonry structure has now been fully revitalized to house a set of retail and office tenants on the first and second floors and the company’s new office on the third floor as well as a new 3,000-square-foot penthouse which provides executive functions including conference spaces and amenity support. New roof terraces on both the east and west sides enabling penthouse amenities to seamlessly merge inside with outside environments. Built in 1948 as an auto dealership facility with expansive bowstring trusses, Graham Baba is redesigning the Renton Pavilion to be home to a new Public Market. Reimagined as the crown jewel of the urban center, the new design will include over a dozen small incubator tenants, two larger restaurant spaces, and upgraded support areas and utilities. Improved finishes and lighting will brighten the large central space, and direct attention back to the original wood ceiling. The dynamic mix of businesses and community events held in the Renton Pavilion will activate the downtown area and connection to the adjacent public plaza and recreation.?Stay tuned for more project updates from Renton! On the boards is a new #pavilion for the Wenatchee Riverfront Park located just east of downtown Wenatchee, nestled along the Columbia River. GBA's scope includes the design of an open-air pavilion, new public restrooms, and a mechanical room addition. With access to the Apple Capital Loop Trail and Columbia River beyond, the pavilion provides much needed gathering space for the community. The new, gender-neutral restroom is located adjacent to the existing Wenatchee Riverfront Railway creating an inclusive space for all visitors. With the addition of the pavilion and new restroom building, as well as significant landscape improvements, the PUD backed project aims to increase community engagement across the area.
