A few options: 1 - RAD Partner Programs: Use the EPA's RAD Partner Locator to find programs that will pick up your old AC and send it to a recycling facility. Some even offer financial incentives. 2 - Utility Company Programs: Many utilities offer "bounty" programs that pay you to recycle your old unit, often providing rebates for newer, more efficient models. 3 - Manufacturer Take-Back Programs: Major retailers and manufacturers offer take-back programs, sometimes with discounts or pick-up services. 4 - Local Sanitation Programs: Contact your city's sanitation or recycling department for AC recycling options. 5 - HVAC Retailers: Many HVAC retailers will dispose of your old AC for you. 6 - Waste Transfer Stations: You can recycle your AC at waste transfer stations. 7 - Bulk Trash Pick-Up Programs: Check if your city offers bulk trash pick-up for AC units. 8 - Donate: If it’s still functional, consider donating your old air conditioner.
