Most people who are not aware how to connect still think LinkedIn is a place to "hang your resume." Others think is a platform to pitch all day long until they "catch a client." People are smart. People connect with people. Start by optimizing your profile. (keep it current). Position yourself as an expert in you field. Share valuable content. Show them, don't tell them. Have the right attitude. BUILD RELATIONSHIPS. Sending "salesy" DMs is a turn off. Build relationships first. Have discussions in the comments of your posts. Support other people's posts. Answer their questions. Participate in conversations. Keep in mind: People buy from people they LIKE, KNOW, and TRUST. Connect with people with the intention to support them first.
