This week, let’s raise awareness about parental mental health and highlight the importance of supporting parents as they navigate their mental well-being. Parenting isn’t always easy, and it’s okay to admit that you need support. Whether it's dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or the pressure of balancing it all, taking care of your mental health as a parent is just as important as taking care of your child’s well-being. Here’s how we can support parental mental health: ?? Normalize conversations about mental health in parenting ?? Encourage parents to seek therapy or support groups ???????? Provide resources for self-care and stress management ?? Offer a listening ear and be there for the parents in your life ?? Remember, caring for yourself is an essential part of caring for others.   • This is Jackie, one of our Lombard clinicians. As a UIC MSW graduate, she obtained hands-on experience working alongside children and adolescents. Her approach stems from experience with cognitive behavioral therapy, multisystemic therapy, and play therapy. She meets clients where they are and provides them with a space where they feel heard and validated. She creates opportunities for clients to develop skills that they can apply throughout their different stages of life. With rapport as a foundation, Jackie helps clients achieve their goals and set their priorities for growth.
