Grace Klein Community, a 501c3 non-profit located in Birmingham, AL, provides a place for people to share life together as they learn to serve and love others in their local community and around the world. We are actively seeking both individuals and business partners who want to share in this vision. Mission: Create authentic community Grace Klein Community seeks to create authentic community by uniting diverse individuals, businesses, ministries, and churches to work together by sharing what they have in order to meet physical and spiritual needs both locally and globally. Vision: Show people that they are deeply valued and that we all have something to give Every person wants to know they are loved and that they matter. Grace Klein Community strives to live out community as a verb, providing people a forum to share what they have so everyone has what they need. Sharing is the give and take relationship of listening, time, resources, money, talents, and encouragement that benefit more than ourselves. Community is the risk of trusting that you belong to the other person as much as they belong to you so that each cares for the other as much as they care for themselves. When we live in a way that “my plenty meets your need so in turn, your plenty meets mine,” then we have the power of Christ’s love to change the world. Purpose: Demonstrate the love of Christ Grace Klein Community exists as an educational and charitable 501(c)3 non-profit providing relief to the poor, the distressed and the underprivileged, lessening community tensions, eliminating prejudice and discrimination and combating community deterioration and juvenile delinquency. Meet Renae Dismuke, the Director of Development at The Salvation Army Birmingham Al. She gave a wonderful tour of their beautiful facility with a men’s and women’s safe shelter for 150 each! She will be touring Grace Klein Community with us on December 11th! Come to our Giving Back Tuesday Open House on December 3rd to check us out too! ??Did you know?!! The Salvation Army has an incredible lounge area dedicated to community businesses! The building offers rooms available, at no cost, giving local businesses a fantastic space to connect, collaborate, and grow. Their Education and Workforce Development Center is a place where the community can gain new skills, pursue education, and receive career support. Food Pantry shoppers can stroll through, grab a shopping cart, and select exactly what they need. It’s all about providing choice, dignity, and real support to those who need it most! ?? ??They are looking for a seasonal Volunteer Coordinator for their downtown warehouse! The position is available ASAP through January 1st, Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, with a pay range of $10-$12 per hour. The volunteer coordinator will assist with the Angel Tree program, manage volunteers, organize warehouse items, and handle light lifting. They also provide workspaces for a variety of certification programs, including CDL, CNA, Lash Tech, Real Estate, and GED prep! Classes are available in Financial Education, Professional Development, literacy, and Health & Nutrition. The Clothing Closet is not just a place to find clothes – they also have a laundry facility where community members can wash and trade items. What an amazing way to support and empower those in need! ??The Salvation Army is calling for Serve Team volunteers to help spread pinestraw in the last pic! ??The Salvation Army is also looking for volunteers to ring the kettle bell, age 18 and older. If younger, they will need to be accompanied by an adult. We say yes to serve teams! University of Alabama at Birmingham UAB Honors College served with us yesterday. They gave away green beans. sorted and organized items for hurricane relief, boxed doughnuts and cleaned bins, logged hygiene products, worked on We Sew Love projects and sorted shoes. The truck is coming for another pickup of shoes late tonight which provides education for children at Kwathu Children's Home.
