Industry partners are essential to the success of shake table projects, providing expertise, resources and critical support throughout the process. One key industry partner for the groundbreaking CFS10 project is Grabber Construction Products, which?manufactures and sells tools, fasteners, and other supplies to the construction industry. "Our screws and fasteners have been specifically designed to perform exceptionally well under extreme forces, such as those experienced during an earthquake," says Andrew Tanksley of Grabber.?"To validate this, we have conducted numerous tests on our products under dynamic loading conditions, including shake table tests. These tests simulate the stresses and forces that our fasteners would encounter in real-world earthquake scenarios. The results consistently demonstrate that our products maintain their integrity and performance, providing reliable and secure connections that are critical for earthquake-resistant structures." Grabber was also involved with?the 2016 CFS shake table project, which explored the performance of cold-formed steel structures during earthquakes and fires.? Tanksley says the company will?continue collaborating with researchers and industry leaders on future shake table projects to strengthen #earthquake resilience. These tests, he says, are fundamental in advancing our understanding of how structures and fasteners behave under seismic forces. "Such rigorous testing is crucial for developing products that can withstand the extreme stress experienced during an earthquake, ensuring the safety and resilience of buildings and infrastructure. By continuously participating in these tests, we can refine our products, introduce innovative solutions, and lead the market in providing state-of-the-art earthquake-resistant assembly connections. These projects also foster collaboration between researchers, engineers, and manufacturers, driving the industry forward through shared knowledge and expertise."
