    Happy ?? day! Here's what you may have missed in the CPG world this past week: Better Sour announced today it has partnered with Walt Disney Animation Studios to launch a new Passion Fruit flavor of its sour gummies featuring “Moana 2”-inspired packaging, marking the brand’s first single-flavor SKU. Danone’s Silk brand is introducing a plant-based milk formulated for children. Silk Kids is formulated with oats and peas and contains 8 grams of protein per serving. Refrigerated donut brand Drumroll Snacks is seeking to expand its distribution footprint further in the natural channel, with the support of a recent $3 million investment from CPG brand incubator 7 Mile Brands. FitCrunch has been acquired by 1440 Foods which already operates active nutrition brands MET-Rx Nutrition Inc., Pure Plant Protein, and Body Fortress. Peanut butter brand One Trick Pony (OTP) has secured seed funding from Collaborative Fund, an early investor in companies such as Sweetgreen,?Blue Bottle Coffee,?and?OLIPOP PBC. The new funds will support retail growth, new innovations, and an upcoming packaging overhaul in early 2025. Plant-based superfood cookie producer Love + Chew Brands is expanding from 177 to 500 Whole Foods Market locations nationwide. The natural retail chain carries five of the brand’s flavors: Chocolate Chia, Banana Bread, Cherry Almond, Mint Cacao Brownie, and high-protein Peanut Butter Chip for $2.99 per 2 oz. cookie. Lifeway Foods, Inc. has rejected Danone SA’s unsolicited offer to acquire the kefir maker for approximately $283 million, claiming that the offer undervalued the company. Danone is currently a minority shareholder in the business. Krusteaz is launching a baking shortcut with Krusteaz Batters. The refrigerated batter is available in chocolate brownie, vanilla cupcake, and chocolate cupcake. Krusteaz Batters may be purchased at Kroger and Walmart. Waterloo Sparkling Water is turning to limited-time launches to expand its reach in the?$8.2 billion ready-to-drink mocktail space. Waterloo debuted Pomegranate?A?aí?this fall and brought back the seasonal offering Spiced Apple for a limited time. In collaboration with the launch, Waterloo introduced nonalcoholic cocktail recipes designed around the flavors, including ones inspired by a pear martini,?negroni?and ginger fizz.

    Lots of great updates coming out of the #cpgindustry this week: 7 Mile Brands is investing $3 million investment in refrigerated donut maker Drumroll Snacks to fuel the brand’s expansion. Drumroll joins 7 Mile Brands’ growing portfolio, which includes PRETZELIZED. Chunk Foods is making the leap into retail this week with a launch in independent retailers in Los Angeles and New York City. The brand is launching four SKUs (Pulled, Slab, Steak, and Steakhouse) into the frozen aisle with plans to expand its retail presence in 2025. Mateina seeks to bring more on-the-go convenience to the energizing tea segment with the online launch of a new line of?powdered Yerba Sticks.?Available in two flavors – Lemon Lime and Orange Mandarin. Edenesque is a new chef-crafted product line that includes Unsweetened Oat Milk, Barista Blend Oat Milk, and Barista Blend Pistachio Milk. The full line is currently available at Whole Foods Market stores in New York and Connecticut Lifeway Foods, Inc. has added 10 new?“Flavor Fusions”?to its 8 oz. organic kefir on-the-go line. The full list of additions includes Pink Dragon Fruit, Passionfruit Lychee, Hot Honey, Guava Jackfruit, Coconut Pineapple, Pistachio Rose Vanilla, Grapefruit Elderflower, Wild Blueberry Lavender, Taro Ube Latte and Matcha Latte. Perfect Hydration Alkaline Water has reimagined its packaging to highlight the brand’s core value of elevated performance. The new packaging is now landing on shelves at retailers nationwide, including Walmart and CVS Health. Keurig Dr Pepper Inc. has agreed terms to acquire energy drink and sports nutrition business GHOST, paying $990 million for an initial 60% stake in GHOST, with the remaining 40% to be acquired in 2028. Feel Good Foods, a manufacturer of gluten-free frozen meals and snacks, has launched gluten-free frozen chicken soup dumplings. The company said it designed the dumplings to be a convenient item for lunch, a light dinner or afternoon snack. The dumplings feature a rice flour blend wrapper and are filled with a mixture of chicken, broth, scallions and ginger. Little Spoon has launched organic oatmeal baby cereal, targeted toward infants aged four months and older. The product, which comes in a resealable bag, is formulated from such ancient grains as barley and millet. Each serving contains 14 grams of whole grains and 13 essential vitamins and minerals. GOODLES has launched a gluten-free pasta line. The lineup come in such shapes as loopdy-loos, lucky penne and twistful thinking. The products are formulated from corn, brown rice and chickpeas among other plant-based ingredients. A-Sha Foods USA has announced the release of three new ramen noodle bowls crafted in collaboration with First We Feast’s Hot Ones. The new lineup, which includes Taiwanese Tingly Pepper (mild), Sizzling Chili Garlic (medium) and Fiery Hot Tonkotsu (hot) varieties. The full A-Sha x Hot Ones ramen noodle line is available at Target and Walmart stores nationwide.
