As the first manufacturer to make digital monitoring standard on every process pump, ITT’s Goulds Pumps brand continues to lead the industry in both mechanical pump design and the adoption of smart technologies. ? We enjoyed having the Hobart and William Smith Colleges - Master of Science in Management Program students on campus to showcase our innovations and business strategies. We can’t wait to see the impact these individuals will have on the world!
Last week the Master of Science in Management (MSM) program completed a transformative Career Trek, visiting a diverse array of local organizations and alum-owned businesses. This hands-on learning experience provided our future leaders with invaluable insights into different industries and the opportunity to engage with successful professionals in real-world settings. We would like to thank the businesses and our hosts: Kayla Peterman, Gabrielle Sinicropi, Carol Messina, Jim Cecere. Career Trek Highlights: ITT Goulds Pumps – As a global leader in industrial pumps, students explored the engineering and business strategies driving the company’s success. The visit showcased how effective management practices contribute to operational excellence in a highly competitive sector. Three Brothers Wineries & Estates – At this well-known Finger Lakes destination, students learned about the intersection of hospitality, management, and sustainable business practices. The winery visit highlighted the unique challenges and rewards of managing a multi-faceted enterprise in the tourism and beverage industry. Sweet Farm Climate Sanctuary – Offering a different perspective, Sweet Farm provided students with insights into how organizations are addressing climate change through sustainable agricultural practices and environmental advocacy. The sanctuary emphasized leadership that integrates mission-driven work with scalable management solutions. FLX Goods & Vinifera – Students had the privilege of visiting alum-owned businesses that exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit. FLX Goods, a goods store specializing in local and sustainable merchandise, and Vinifera, a wine shop focusing on local wines, are thriving ventures that provided an in-depth look at how MSM graduates are applying their leadership and management skills to create impactful businesses in the Finger Lakes region. The MSM Career Trek is a key component of the program’s experiential learning model, aimed at giving students the tools to connect academic theory with practical, real-world applications. Through these visits, students gain exposure to a range of industries and professional networks, laying the foundation for future career success. Thanks to the faculty and staff, Samuel Halfman, Craig Talmage, and John Halfman, who put everything together and accompanied the cohort. For more information about the MSM program and upcoming experiential learning opportunities, visit https://lnkd.in/g8qisxGX or connect with any of us on LinkedIn.
