Moving forward in a new role with Confidential Canine, Inc. (Team K9). As many of you have seen, we have done a small reorganization of the leadership at Confidential Canine. This included moving myself, Branden Loock up to the role of President, bringing in a stellar new Vice-President, Michael Trenkamp, and Philip Corrado moving to Executive Director. Philip has led Team K9 since its inception in 2016 and during this time has built many high level relationships with clients that we still work with today. These changes do not alter our foundation of service and goals of providing the highest quality services in K9 detection, working alongside security teams at music festivals, sporting events, conventions, etc., but rather create a fresh vision and move toward creating more relationships with clients across the country. Our teams will continue to provide the highest quality professional services, as we have always done. This is our commitment to our clients. We want to thank all of our past and current clients, and look forward to working with each of them, as well as new clients in the future. WHAT A WEEK! From toasty temps to rockin’ tunes our teams were deployed across the US keeping all levels of musical events safe! ?? HUGE shoutout to our Faster Horses team - working a festival is a 24/7 commitment and this team shipped out and showed up at the top of their game. ???? THERE IS NO “I” IN TEAM A lot of the training that goes into preparing a dog for detection focuses on the relationship between the handler and the canine - but there is an unsung relationship between the handlers and trainers that is just as important. Training a dog to perform detection is not an overnight process, or a 5-week lesson package you can purchase from your local pet store. It takes months of dedication and frustration to build a dog and a handler. Having a team supporting you along the way makes ALL the difference. Our trainers @branden and @phil work tirelessly to strengthen our team’s technique and ability. They’re out working the field constantly to keep our training up to date. The handlers all watch each other during training to cheer teams on and provide helpful feedback and problem-solving tips. There are deep levels of trust between us all as we work to keep people safe. We train and win as a TEAM. The best of the best. Folks to sweat, cry, and always borrow a poop bag from??? . Succeeding in event safety isn’t just about one handler or one dog - it’s about the TEAM.

THE HISTORY OF THE DETECTOR DOG Canines have been our loyal companions for (quite literally) thousands of years - but how long have they been aiding us in keeping the public safe?? The earliest documented use of canines in warfare runs all the way back to the Roman Empire???, and the first cases of standardized K9 programs began in 1899 in Belgium. ?? ? These programs quickly expanded globally, taking deep hold in the United States??. Detection dogs became a critical part of combat in WWII and continued to serve dutifully throughout all major conflicts in US history. Trained to serve as both protector and detector, the scent dog has had a long and storied history of keeping people safe during the best and worst of times. ? FANCY FEET AND DANDY DUDS! When you see our dogs out on jobs you’ll notice they’re geared up from head to toe! These accessories aren’t just to make a bold fashion statement - they are also critical tools to help our dogs work successfully! ?? VESTS AND IDENTIFICATION Much like uniformed humans, our dogs wear vests and patches to let others know they are on the job! This is key in keeping our dogs safe and focused from folks who might want to interact while we’re working. ? PRONG COLLARS These sparkly collars are an important tool for communicating with our dogs during high-energy situations. They might look scary, but our dogs love when they put them on because they know it’s time to work! ?? SHOES AND BOOTIES Not only are shoes on dogs the CUTEST ever, shoes and booties play a key role in protecting our dogs while they work! From hot asphalt to broken glass or loose needles, footwear provides the protection our dogs need to do their jobs effectively and safely.

?TEAM K9/HIDEF K9 TAKEOVER? ? Hello all! Samantha Conrow, MBA here, handler and member of the board of directors for TEAM K9! I am SO EXCITED to be taking over our social media this week while our teams are deployed across the US keeping events safe. I grew up attending concerts and LOVE live music. My first concert was Mumford and Sons at UFCU Amphitheatre in Utah, my favorite concert has been Dashboard Confessional at The Depot, and there are so many more on my bucket list! The rush from attending a live music event with thousands of fans is something everyone should get to experience - and here at Team K9 we are passionate about keeping these and other events safe for all.
