Rhode Island may be small in size but we're big on sports and our small but mighty sports commission team is making waves across the Ocean State!
The sports tourism industry continues to rise to new levels with each passing year, as it has not only recovered from COVID, but surpassed the pre-COVID years in many aspects. However, the upswing in sports business being brought into destinations has not correlated directly to local CVBs and sports commissions expanding their dedicated sports staff. Heath Dillard and Kayla Adams, from VisitGreenvilleSC, are bringing many large events to their area, as is Joel Koester, and the Tulsa Sports Commission. Jonathan Walker, of the Rhode Island Sports Commission, is doing big business in New England, while Explore York in Pennsylvania is excelling at youth and college sports.

The 3-day competition will bring 300+ puzzle-solving participants to the Amica Mutual Pavilion, Rhode Island Convention Center to compete in over a dozen events, from one-handed and blindfolded solving of the well-known Rubik's Cube to other challenging puzzles such as the Pyraminx and Square-1!

??The International Tennis Hall of Fame just announced a revamped Hall of Fame Open, including ATP Tour Challenger 125 and WTA 125 level tournaments. The Hall of Fame Open, scheduled for 6-13 July 2025, will become just the second combined men’s and women’s 125 level event in the United States.

Scheduled for July 6-13, 2025, the Hall of Fame Open will become just the second combined men’s and women’s 125 level event in the United States. It will be the only grass court stop on the Hologic WTA Tour outside of Europe, and the first women’s professional tournament at the ITHF since the Virginia Slims of Newport concluded in 1990. Equal prize money will be awarded to both the men’s and women’s draws. Thrilled to continue working with the ATP Tour on the Newport Challenger, and welcome the WTA back to the grass courts!
