Achieving perfect green screen compositing is a nonstop pursuit. During a recent post-mortem, Joshua Baize (one of our staff editors) mentioned he had an idea for improving our green screen compositing. More specifically, for preserving the beauty and detail in every strand of hair, especially those challenging white, blonde, and red hues. We know that curls, waves, and textured hair add complexity to green screen compositing, and we're determined to master it. After conducting 34 unique tests with a variety of hair colors, textures, and lighting techniques, we discovered new and improved ways to get better results, faster. Having a wholly integrated team allows our production and post production teams to collaborate, share ideas, and find ways to improve.
