My favorite thing to spot at a tradeshow as a strategist & curator is new product lines that tell a harmonic brand progression story. These new products do one or more of the following: Leverage their hero ingredient - Oat Haus granola after the success of blended granola butter (it's almost impossible to find a nut-free granola in store, so excited for Ali Bonar) - Sunny Fine Foods dressings featuring their signature tahini - Cleveland Kitchen sauces feat. their fermented all-stars Multiple products that play well together - Loisa rice & beans after sazon & sofrito (plus a rebrand ??) - NIRAMAYA FOODS naan pretzels after dips Meeting customers where they are (& where they're going on-the-go) - GORGIE is soon launching glow sticks & powdered energy - Recess mood powders alongside cans - Magic Mind gummies alongside shots (& a new no caff option) - OoMee marine greens seabiotics alongside cans - TRIP magnesium gummies alongside cans Serve their customer at a different time of the day - Breakfast egg bites from The Pizza Cupcake - Plus the new LEXINGTON BAKES oat bars that I ate daily last week. Lex Evan? started with lux brownies, now bringing that energy to brekkie. Not pictured / coming soon in future posts: New product lines seen at Expo West (or recently-ish launched by exhibitors) around Soda, Protein, Noodles, and aging up/down to serve new customer age groups. Innovation comes in many shapes, sizes and colors. I'm in the camp of supporting the teams and agencies that spent 1-2 years bringing 100s of new products to market who gave it their all last week. We don't decide what's cool - their customers will influence what stays on shelf. So I'm gonna keep posting new products announced at Expo West that made me look twice in hopes that they inspire another creator to feature the brand this year, you to partner with that brand, invest in them, or put it on a shelf. p.s.
