Free Advice Friday! This goes out to job seekers everywhere: Interview prep: don't just prepare for the interview. Ask someone close to the organization to elevate your name too. Story: One of my friends landed a job interview that's a really big deal. She's spent hours running through practice questions. She's ready to address every concern the panel has. However, she's also acquaintences with an advisor to the hiring manager! She's missing an incredible opportunity to move onto the final round if she doesn't ask the friend to float her name to the hiring manager, ON TOP of crushing her interview. Takeaway: Always ask for a warm intro...a back-channel mention...or something that convinces the hiring manager that awesome people are mentioning your name---therefore you must be an awesome candidate. Good luck to you! And don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything I can do to help. #jobinterviews #interviewadvice #careercoaching #careerpivot #mentoringmatters #workforcedevelopment #freeadvicefriday #faf
