Foundation has awarded us a generous grant to support the construction of a new model home at our Construction Skills Training Center. At Goodwill, we’re proud to offer tuition-free training programs that help individuals train for and build rewarding careers in the construction industry. ??Andre – From groundskeeper to HVAC supervisor, Andre advanced his career with Goodwill’s HVAC program. Now a Teaching Assistant, he's paying it forward to others on the same path. ??Rob – A residential remodeler who hit a wall with electrical work, Rob expanded his skillset at Goodwill’s Electrical Training Program and now works as an electrical apprentice while preparing to relaunch his business. ??Charles – With a passion for drones, Charles turned to Goodwill’s Drone Pilot course to take his production company to the next level. He now works on commercial projects with his Part 107 license. ??Destiney – After searching for a long-term career, Destiney found her passion for HVAC at Goodwill. Now, she’s thriving as a maintenance technician, earning more than ever. ??Camryn – At just 20, Camryn left college to pursue hands-on work. Through Goodwill’s Electrical Program, she’s now an Electrical Helper and a Teaching Assistant for future Goodwill trainees. ??Ryan – After a decade in construction, Ryan pivoted to electrical trades. Thanks to Goodwill, he’s now an Electrical Apprentice with a bright future ahead. These success stories are made possible by the support of our community. Our hearts go out to our neighbors in western North Carolina and the surrounding areas impacted by Hurricane Helene. We stand with everyone who is facing the aftermath of this devastating storm. In times of crisis, it's heartening to see our community come together to support one another. One way we're helping those affected by Hurricane Helene is by supporting the disaster relief drive that American Airlines and the Charlotte Douglas International Airport are hosting. This Saturday and Sunday, October 5 - 6, we'll be collecting disaster relief supplies at all of our retail stores. Each store will have a collection bin located by its donor door that's clearly labeled for this purpose. We'll take all of the items we collect to the airport, where they'll be loaded onto a truck and delivered to western North Carolina for local distribution. Items we'll be collecting include: non-perishable food items, toiletries, infant essentials, tarps, trash bags and cleaning supplies. Thank you as we work together to support our neighbors in need!
