Today, we’re celebrating the amazing turnout for last Wednesday’s Career Fair, where we partnered with Frederick News-Post to connect 170 jobseekers with 24 different employers and resource providers. Additionally, we’re thrilled to share that we held four packed career prep workshops throughout the week! Thank you to Frederick News-Post, our GIMV Mission team, and to everyone who made the Career Fair and the career prep workshops possible. Our Foundational Leadership Academy is in full swing, and we’d like to recognize all of the amazing organizations that are taking part in this five-week cohort program: Justice Jobs of Maryland, Pitts Elite Contracting, Frederick County Public Schools, Tree Trekkers Frederick LLC, Mount St. Mary's University, First United Bank & Trust, ClearView Communities LLC, Frederick Rescue Mission, Asian American Center of Frederick, Frederick County Workforce Services, and Frederick County Public Library. Over the past two weeks, we’ve delved into Leadership Styles, Empowering Leadership, Effective Communication, Conflict Management, and more! In this program, we work with new leaders to help them gain knowledge and valuable skills to help them inspire and empower their teams. Today, we’re highlighting the amazing turnout for our weekly Digital Literacy class! Every Thursday, attendees participate in hands-on computer training in Email 101, Microsoft Office, Internet Basics, and more. This workshop has been an amazing resource for the participants, helping them to gain confidence, expand their job skills, and explore new work opportunities. As part of Goodwill’s Mission Services, this Digital Literacy class is one of the many ways in which we serve our community.
