As we celebrate the 1-year anniversary of Goodwill’s Automotive Technician Training program, we’re proud to highlight the inspiring journey of Ashton, a recent graduate whose story reflects the power of dedication and community support. From a young age, Ashton had a passion for cars, and with the resources at Goodwill’s Academy, she transformed that passion into a promising career. Her journey at the Academy, supported by staff members Jennifer and Martin, allowed her to excel, ultimately earning her Valedictorian status in both Level 1 and Level 2 Automotive courses. Now, Ashton has taken the next step in her career with an Apprenticeship at Gurley Leep Kia, where she continues to build on her skills and pursue her dreams. This journey is a testament to the impact of Goodwill’s mission, where community donations and purchases fund free training programs like the Academy, creating life-changing opportunities that empower people to achieve their most abundant lives.
