  • 🧠 🌎The demand for dementia-trained professionals has been growing steadily due to the aging global population. As the number of people living with dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, continues to rise, there is an increasing need for professionals who are equipped with specialized knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care and support. Key factors driving this demand include: 1. Aging Population: As life expectancy increases, the number of older adults who may develop dementia also rises. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that over 55 million people are living with dementia worldwide, and this number is expected to increase to 78 million by 2030. 2. Growing Awareness: With increased awareness about dementia and its impact, families and healthcare systems are more focused on providing specialized care for individuals with dementia. This has created more opportunities for trained professionals. 3. Healthcare Sector Needs: Hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, and memory care units need professionals who can effectively manage dementia patients. This includes healthcare workers like nurses, caregivers, social workers, occupational therapists, and psychologists who have specific training in dementia care. 4. Policy and Support Programs: Governments and organizations are putting more emphasis on dementia care through support programs, funding for research, and guidelines for care practices, further stimulating demand for dementia-trained professionals. In response to this, we offer a class every other month that will lead you on a path to certification . Check out www.nccdp.org for more details and to see if you qualify to become a CDP… then go to our website or scan the QR code to register for our upcoming virtual class or a future in person class in our office in York! #makingadifferenceindementiacare #ProfessionalTraining #CDP

  • Testimonial Tuesday… “Lori is such a sweetheart and helped our family learn how to take care of our mother better. We were hesitant about starting the classes but once there, within the first 5 minutes, Lori reeled us all in and won our hearts and our respect for what she does. Her empathy, sympathy, experiences both professionally and much more, personally, makes her an excellent teacher for the rest of us! We highly recommend Lori and the CPC ( Care Partner Connections) classes she teaches. We hope more families get to learn of her and this program that Good News offers free to family caregivers. We hope more people will attend when offered. So worth it!!!” If you are interested in learning more about the CPC classes and when the next ones are, drop a comment below or contact us! PS Lori is the one NOT in glasses if you didn’t know!😉
