Yesterday was a great first day at this year’s Airports Innovate conference. With lively and informative discussions about the future of the aviation industry, I was particularly taken by Paul Griffiths’ interview (which I felt set the tone for what has been a fun yet thought-provoking event) and Esther Kromhout’s considered (but no less impassioned) presentation on how technology can reshape infrastructure. Looking forward to today’s events, not least the panel I’m joining to discuss innovation for the passenger experience – moderated by Thomas Hoff Andersson (BER - Berlin Brandenburg Airport) and including Maddalena Spreafico (SEA Milan Airports), Kristof Philips (TCR), Luis José Ca?ón Ordó?ez (Aena), and myself! Today seems an apt day to send my thanks to ACI EUROPE, ACI World - Airports Council International, and Airports Council International - ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East for organizing the conference (and being so receptive to the whole GoodMaps family), as well as to Aeroporti di Roma for hosting the event at the Rome-Fiumicino Airport. On a more personal note, thanks to Jean-Sebastien Pard (and the whole ACI family) for making me feel so welcome these past few days.

The event, which celebrates all things inclusion, is an inspiring gathering that highlights the industry’s desire to make travel as accessible and enjoyable as possible. Yesterday, Kevin took to the stage and spoke about his lived experience as a blind traveler, about accessibility in general, and the need for products such as GoodMaps to make the experience in airports (and any large, often complex, indoor environment) a great one for every passenger. ? Today, we joined our friends at GoodMaps at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport for GoodMaps Awareness Day! This event brought awareness to accessible airport navigation provided by GoodMaps' interactive digital maps and AI-based navigation tech and supplied information about how to use it while traveling during the holidays.
