Members of the IFF team celebrated #BlackHistoryMonth in a variety of ways in recent weeks, including attending Definition Theatre's production of Fat Ham at #Chicago's Goodman Theatre. Definition celebrates stories created with, inspired by, and intended for people and communities of color, and IFF’s Real Estate Solutions team is excited to support the organization with planning for a new performing arts center in Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood that's featured in the photo below! For our Chicago followers, Fat Ham runs through March 9th at the Goodman, and you can learn more about the show and purchase tickets here: https://lnkd.in/gEuxHyw5

A Not-For-Profit Arts and Civic Organization in the Heart of the Loop
关于我们
Goodman Theatre, Chicago’s oldest and largest not-for-profit theater, has won international renown for the quality of productions, the depth and diversity of artistic leadership, and the excellence of its many community and educational programs. Under the guidance of Artistic Director Susan V. Booth and Executive Director Roche Schulfer, the Goodman is committed to producing both classic and contemporary works, giving full voice to a wide range of artists and visions. Central to that mission is the Goodman Artistic Collective, a diverse group of outstanding theater artists whose distinctive visions have given the Goodman an artistic identity of uncommon richness and variety. By dedicating itself to three guiding principles—quality, diversity and community—Goodman Theatre seeks to be the premier cultural organization in Chicago, providing productions and programs that make an essential contribution to the quality of life in our city.

Many thanks to #TheGoodman trustees David Fox (Northern Trust) and Phil Clement (World Business Chicago) for hosting a wonderful evening at Northern Trust for an insider event with musician, author and multi-media artist David Byrne! These guests were among the first to learn about the #Innovative project THEATER OF THE MIND, created by David Byrne and Mala Gaonkar as a "neuroscience fun-house" that blends theatre, art installation and science.? ? After a critically-acclaimed sold-out engagement in Denver,?The Goodman will bring this hands-on,?immersive experience to #Chicago's loop as a permanent cultural attraction in the Reid Murdoch Building (333 North LaSalle) that will debut as part of our 2025/2026 Centennial Season. ? Read more and see photos of a new theatrical experience you’ll see, feel, taste and hear?at:?https://lnkd.in/geerWxTq ? Thank you to the Alfred P. Goodman Theatre's Centennial Season is here, and what a season it will be! A truly spectacular lineup of world premieres and incredible stories will take center stage - but what excites me most is the way our Education and Engagement programming will continue to be a driving force in who the Goodman is, and what the Goodman does. I can't wait to share with Chicago (and the world) how we are... ?? Expanding and refining our Theatre for the Very Young programming to inspire our earliest audiences and spark intergenerational dialogue amongst family units! ?? Reaching thousands of Chicago Public Schools students and teachers through deepened and expanded school-based programming - providing free tickets to the aforementioned incredible productions (and subsidizing transportation costs for schools), curating hands on, STEAM inspired workshops where students learn about all that goes on in theatre, and teaching young people how the arts are and always have been a tool for civic engagement and community building! ??? Strengthening our commitment to community-based initiatives that make theatre accessible to all - programming that doubled in size last year and only continues to grow stronger And to top it all off, we’re launching 100 Free Acts of Theatre - a birthday celebration slash love letter to the City of Broad shoulders, bringing free arts-based programming, conversation and learning to all 50 of Chicago's wards! Here’s to a season that honors the past, looks boldly to the future, and exudes joy all the while. Let’s goooooo! ??? #Goodman100 #TheatreForAll #Chicago
Cheers to 100 years! Yesterday, #TheGoodman’s Artistic Director Susan V. Booth and Executive Director John Collins announced an epic line-up of world-class talent for The Goodman’s upcoming Centennial 2025/2026 Season. Eleven productions—six world premieres (including two musicals), one revival, a major new downtown cultural attraction, and three annual productions—are set for the 100th year of #Chicago’s largest not-for-profit resident theater, beginning in September. For a century, The Goodman has been more than a theater—it’s been the heartbeat of Chicago. Here, art doesn't just entertain you—it awakens. Come to the Goodman. Leave more human. This afternoon, the Goodman Theatre achieved a historic milestone by announcing their centennial season! It was an honor to be part of the magic as artistic team members shared how they plan on celebrating this momentous occasion throughout the coming year.?? As part of the Scenemakers Board leadership team, we are working to ensure young professionals make an impact throughout the season and beyond. 100 years is nothing short of incredible, and I can't wait to celebrate this iconic moment for the Goodman. #BeSceneForGood #LeaveMoreHuman
