Making food healthy, affordable, fair and sustainable for all.
关于我们
The Los Angeles Food Policy Council is a collective impact initiative working to make food healthy, affordable, fair and sustainable. We bring together leaders and experts from across sectors, geographies, and socio-economic communities to strengthen connections throughout the food system, and to facilitate and coordinate systemic change. Through policy creation and cooperative relationships, our goals are to reduce hunger, improve public health, increase equity in our communities, create good jobs, stimulate local economic activity, and foster environmental stewardship. In particular, the LAFPC aims to connect environmental sustainability and local agriculture with efforts to expand access to healthy food in underserved communities.

Amidst January’s fires, our community’s resilience and capacity for mutual aid became tangible — especially among urban growers. A recent The Guardian article shed light on the fire’s impact on Altadena’s community foodways, as well as the steps locals are taking to rebuild what was lost, both physically and culturally. The article briefly mentioned a meeting of LAFPC’s Urban Agriculture Working Group, which explores ways to expand and scale urban agriculture across Los Angeles County. Recently, we’ve been focused on extending the Urban Ag Incentive Zones into unincorporated areas of Los Angeles. If you’re interested in ensuring policy is shaped to support food sovereignty and urban agricultural growth, please join the discussion https://lnkd.in/gGwASQzN ???: Victoria Namkung #urbanagriculture?#losangeles https://lnkd.in/gXVEvPvm
