Just stopping by to share a roundup of exciting developments both in my doctoral program, and at SULA LABS over the past few months such as: ?? In March, I received my Master of Science in Chemistry from UCLA, and in June, I successfully passed my candidacy exam and advanced to PhD candidacy for my doctorate in chemistry! Thanks to my advisor and doctoral committee for pushing me to be the best researcher I can possibly be as I continue to research & develop optimized sunscreen materials. ?? My publication titled Standardizing the White Cast Potential of Sunscreens with Metal Oxide Ultraviolet Filters was chosen for the April 2024 issue journal cover of Accounts of Materials Research, featuring a cover that I designed (an underrated highlight of submitting research articles). https://lnkd.in/gp5fJNdG ?? In June - the day after my candidacy exam - I had the pleasure of delivering a talk on my research above, for Spelman College’s inaugural cohort of their Cosmetic Science Program. :) Thank you Dr. Leyte Winfield for your amazing work on this degree program! ?? That month, the very kind folks over at Beauty Independent named myself and many other colleagues I admire, one of the industry’s 30 Top Beauty Product Developers: https://lnkd.in/ggnjxGMW ?? I received the Center for Diverse Leadership in Science (CDLS) Early Career Fellowship! As a Fellow, I will engage in outreach & volunteership that pushes the cosmetic industry to close inclusivity gaps through science. ?? And lastly, a BIG thank you to Betsy Ludwig and the Northeastern Women Who Empower initiative for the honor of selecting me and my work at SULA LABS as a 1st place Women Who Empower Award, and 2nd place in the Powering Diverse and Inclusive Communities of Belonging category.
