For our third annual Kids’ Book awards, we went straight to the source: children themselves—more than 150 children, from babies to tweens rated and reviewed stories. Then, our team of experts (and a few celebs) carefully weighed each review and narrowed down hundreds of books to 57 winners across eight categories. The results are in! Good Housekeeping is pleased to unveil this year’s Best Toy Award winners. As part of the team that tests?#toys, I can say we’re really serious about play! This year, we tested nearly 300 toys to find the ones that kids were excited to play with and returned to again and again. Ultimately, it was the kid feedback that elevated winners above the others. We know it's easy for a toy to cut a flashy commercial or whip up a lot of buzz online, but in the end, the hype doesn’t matter if kids don’t enjoy playing with something — and we set out to find the toys they TRULY loved. (Case in point: My 8-year-old tested Jada Toys’s remote-controlled Godzilla, and it’s a cherished member of our family now.)
