I was excited to hear Nicola Williams speak about how she's grown The Williams Agency, her values-based marketing agency in Cambridge, MA, at the Women Who Inspire event last night. Nicola is a dynamo who creates and runs great events based on delicious local food, culture, and community. Thanks to Rachel Cortez, who organized the Women Who Inspire event (with able assistance from Robin Saunders), and the Roasted Granola Cafe in Arlington who hosted the event in their cozy cafe.

The Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Technical Assistance Program seeks technical assistants to help potential grantees develop successful grant proposals.? I've been a grant review for Northeast SARE for a couple of years and I'm impressed with the way it encourages innovation, sustainability, and equitability in the agriculture community. This is paid freelance consulting work and a great way to make a contribution.

Some food for thought.

I give Langwater Farm high marks for a well-organized agritourism experience. I have one suggestion: Label your crops, so when the haywagon takes us across your fields, we'll know what other wonderful produce you're growing.

Exploitative marketing is not new. A provocative exhibit at the Boston Athenaeum showcased the difference between how Black anti-slavery activists portrayed themselves vs. how white abolitionists marketed the cause.
