Yesterday, our President and CEO, John Pingo, attended IARF’s Legislative Breakfast in Springfield, where Illinois legislators were recognized for their crucial role in securing a $1 wage increase for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). This increase is a significant step forward in supporting the essential work our DSPs do every day to empower and enrich the lives of the people we serve. John had the privilege of personally thanking Representative Maurice West for his dedication and commitment to our field. This progress would not be possible without the support of leaders like him, who understand the importance of fair wages for those who provide such essential care.?
