On the next installment of my AI storytelling journey, I'm taking it back to where it all began... the place I was born and the place my family and I call home: Los Angeles, California. It's been heartwarming to have so many people reach out over these past few nightmarish weeks to check in on me and my family. We are safe and my home is intact, but my heart aches for all my friends and fellow Angelenos who were not so lucky. Ever since I was a little kid, I've idolized Los Angeles. This city, and what it symbolizes, has had a profound impact on me and is an integral character in my story. I'm going to share my story with you in a way it's never been told before. Have you ever had one of those ideas you can't tell whether it's absolutely brilliant or terrible? Welp, this is one of those... it came to me in the shower (where I get all my best ideas) and I can't stop thinking about it. So I've decided to ignore all of my second-guessing-and-embarrassment-and-self-doubt and just GO FOR IT. For the past year, I've been obsessing over the potential for AI to help creators like me tell our stories, without having to wait for someone else's green light. I've been trying to learn everything there is to know about this new technology and how we humans can harness it to unleash our creativity. I learn best by doing (and teaching others), so I figure if I can use AI to tell my story week after week, and share it with the world - I'll probably learn faster, fail even more stupendously, pick up tips and tricks, and maybe even meet some new creative collaborators. After all, whenever I do public speaking and share my entrepreneurial journey (not just the successes, but the failures too), the best part is the one person who comes up to me afterward and says something like, "Debbie, I never pictured myself as an (engineer / CEO / leader), but now that I see you've done it, I think I could do it too." So if this little AI storytelling experiment has that effect - even just for one person - then it was worth it, right?!?! Plus, right now AI is kind of a boys club (what a shocker), so maybe this could even help inspire a few more girls to jump into the field of AI? I'd like that.
