? Celebrating 6 Years of Gold Impact with Vanity Fair! ? From a team of volunteers to an industry-defining force, Gold House has spent six years forging cultural excellence and socioeconomic progress for the Asian Pacific community. Here’s how we’ve made an impact together: ?? In Narrative Change: we’ve deployed industry-leading research, consulting, investments, and promotion on 400+ major media projects, including Everything Everywhere All At Once (the most-awarded film in history!), to ensure affirming mainstream portrayals. Our Creative Equity Fund has invested in 15 films and 2 animation studios, including the award-winning Dìdi (弟弟), to greenlight more authentic stories. We’ve now expanded our expertise into journalism, advertising, gaming, and food. Through our partnership with OpenTable, we launched the Gold Chef Prize, and brought South Indian flavors to the Prabal Gurung creative-directed Gold Gala with a menu curated by Culinary Directors Padma Lakshmi and Michelin-starred chef Vijay Kumar of Semma and Unapologetic Foods. ?? In Economic Empowerment: With Gold House Ventures, we’ve invested in 78 companies, our startup accelerator alumni have raised $2 billion, and we’re proud to power the largest top Asian Pacific founder network in North America. With Gold Bridge, we’re connecting Asia and North America for investment and collaboration. Anchored by Gold Prix during Singapore F1 week in partnership with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), we gather 200+ founders and creators to explore Southeast Asia’s market, which is projected to reach $1 trillion by 2030. And on the success of our first fund and global reach, we’re now raising Gold House Ventures II. ?? In One House: Partnering with leaders like the Sundance Institute, East West Bank Foundation, and leading multicultural organizations, we have advanced collaboration and capital for diverse filmmakers – with collective convenings during mainstream awards and a first-of-its-kind One House Filmmakers Fund – and reshaped corporate power by securing more than 60 publicly-traded and privately-held Board Director positions. As our full-time Team, Fellows, volunteers, Membership, and network grow, Gold House’s work will continue to power tomorrow for all. Learn more about how we can collaborate and how you can join the movement at goldhouse.org.? We're not waiting for a seat at someone else’s table; we’re building our own house. ??: goldhouse.org/vanityfair Photography: Huy Doan | Editing: @p_t_gibson

? Cold Tea Collective’s mission is to empower the next generation of the Asian diaspora to live their most authentic and fulfilled lives through storytelling. On this Canadian Thanksgiving, I want to thank anyone who has ever read, listened to or watched any of our content. To those who have volunteered, made a donation, shared, referred, and trusted us to be part of bringing their stories to life, thank you ?? Last week was my second time travelling to New York for Advertising Week, second Gold Forum for Gold House, and the one year anniversary of the launch of the Gold House “Gold Publishers” and Kargo “AAPI Multicultural Content Amplifier” Programs with the support of our partner Discover Financial Services. Although our friends at The Lounge Booth captured all smiles in these photos, what is not pictured are the unexpected tears I had not long before. Hearing the stories and perspectives from Laurie Lam, Susie Nam, Rachana Kumar and Versha Sharma at the “Gold Women’s Breakfast”, coupled with the warm and welcoming smiles and introductions between the group of Asian women made it a safe space for the tears to flow. How special it was to be in a space where we were all celebrated and empowered to be our authentic selves without having to code-switch or over-explain; we could just, be. At Advertising Week, a fellow attendee saw “Cold Tea Collective” on my name tag and stopped me. She told me she was a mixed-race Indonesian creative and how she’s been reading us for years. I asked if I could give her a hug and some stickers ??????. 8?? When we first started publishing stories for us and by us nearly eight years ago, I knew that the power of authentic storytelling could transcend artificial limitations of human connection, but I continue to be amazed at and feel immense gratitude for how far, wide and deep it would connect all of us. I am grateful for the journey to date and excited to see where we will go. #gratitude #CanadianThanksgiving #thankful

Attending the Gold House #GoldForum! on Friday, October 11, was an incredible experience, packed with thought-provoking discussions and meaningful takeaways. The day began with an inspiring Women's Breakfast where I had the pleasure of hearing from trailblazers like Versha Sharma, Editor-in-Chief at Teen Vogue, Rachana Kumar, CTO at Etsy, Laurie Lam, Chief Brand Officer at E.L.F. BEAUTY, and Susie Nam, CEO at @Publicis Creative. Their journeys reminded me of the importance of stepping into a room with confidence and the stories they shared about navigating challenges and the impact of inclusion were truly powerful. The rest of the day was filled with dynamic sessions, including invaluable insights. During group discussions, we dove into issues affecting the AAPI community, from addressing narrative change to how we can commit to taking action. I especially valued these discussions as they were not only moments for reflection, but also allowed us to tackle topics we don’t discuss enough, but that are so vital for our community. A huge thank you to Bing Chen and the entire Gold House team for creating such an impactful space. It was an honor to participate alongside so many incredible leaders committed to driving change for the Asian Pacific community. At Audeliss Executive Search, we’re passionate about elevating underrepresented leaders, including women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ talent. Events like these reaffirm the importance of supporting diverse voices and creating opportunities for every community to thrive. Looking forward to carrying this momentum forward! #GoldForum2024 #AAPILeaders #DEI #DiversityEquityInclusion #GoldForum

Marketing & Events @Gold House | Events Producer | Marketing Specialist | Musician | 5 Mil+ views across Social
As we head into the fall, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on and share some of the exciting projects I’ve had the privilege of leading and contributing to at Gold House. It’s been an incredibly rewarding journey working at the intersection of marketing and events, helping to bring our mission to life and drive impact across a wide range of initiatives.?? Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to help coordinate some of our most high-profile events, including Sundance, Gold Gala, One House Toast to the Emmys, and the One House Filmmakers Fund. I also led communications and red carpet coverage for film premieres and screenings, including Kung Fu Panda 4, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Sympathizer, Tiger’s Apprentice, 3 Body Problem, The Acolyte, and more. One of the biggest highlights has been leading end-to-end guest communications for the One House Toast to the Emmys, managing hundreds of inbound emails, coordinating invitations, and organizing a high profile guest list. The project required ongoing collaboration with internal teams while maintaining a filled room of 200+ attendees—including over 20 Emmy nominees from this year’s selection. ?? The event concluded with a celebration from 3PM to midnight, honoring the achievements of our attendees and their contributions to multicultural impact in entertainment. Additionally, I’m excited about my role in helping to launch Gold Creators, a new program developed alongside our Head of Growth. We launched this program with 30 selected Creators across New York and LA. On the press and media coverage side, I’ve actively tracked and consolidated our event coverage with significant media attention, such as 3.44M views from our Sundance activations and 5.96M views from the Emmys Toast. In parallel, I’ve been upgrading our internal Master Press List for 2024, refining it to include over 400 of the most relevant contacts to ensure our outreach is as strategic and effective as possible. Another part of my role that I cherish is creating custom interview questions for some of the most inspiring members of our community. Recent features include Sean Wang (Didi), Sean Ono Lennon (Musician), Tammy Henault (CMO, NBA), Janet Yang (President, AMPAS), Jenn Tran (First Asian Bachelorette), and Lee Isaac Chung (Minari, Twisters). By researching their personal journeys, career insights, and inspirations, I’ve crafted questions that help share their wisdom and advice with the broader AAPI community.?? Looking ahead, I’m excited for what’s next and grateful to everyone at Gold House for their dedication and teamwork. Together, we’re creating powerful, meaningful experiences and elevating the stories and impact of our community. Huge shoutout to the incredible team as it truly takes a huge amount of effort and dedication from each person! #GoldHouse #MarketingAndEvents #AAPI #Community #Creators #Impact #Storytelling ??Thank you Loungebooth for the team photo below!

Last week I had the honor to attend Gold House's inaugural APEX Dinner in partnership with Forbes. I've been a part of Gold House since 2020 when I hosted an AAPI Founder Salon with Megan Ruan about the effects of anti-Asian hate crimes on Asian American founders. Since then, I've had the privilege of mentoring and advising many Gold Rush founders and watching the nonprofit grow from a burgeoning grass roots movement to an international change agent, shifting the economic and cultural landscape of Asian representation and influence across media, entertainment, fashion, venture, and tech! I joked with Bing Chen that he is a "benevolent Asian mafia cult leader". But seriously, we need to find more co-conspirators and alliances to make it through this world when it's not designed in our favor. I always say there are two types of people in this world: cult leaders and cult followers. Be a leader, not a follower. For too long Asians have been viewed as followers--passive and subsequent Model Minority types--quietly cleaning up after others, shoveling and eating shit, only to be rewarded with more thankless work. I've spent my 20s punished as a vocal Asian American woman in corporate America, refusing to play into the "good meek Asian woman" stereotype. As a result of often asserting myself, I've been time and time again put on the political chopping block in institutions for having a voice and owning my convictions. However, with the community of Gold House behind me, I no longer feel afraid of being punished as a fully voiced Asian American woman. Why? Because the power of privilege and community is knowing you can swing for the fences and, if you fail, others will catch you. I'm currently working on a book proposal about the concept of Soft Power, harnessing the invisible power laws to help marginalized individuals not only survive by thrive in systems not designed for us. I've been meditating on the concept of soft power for a very long time. So much of my learnings in my dynamic path through tech, VC, and finance, is realizing that the world is not a meritocracy, soft skills at a certain point eclipse hard skills, and the power of relationships trump sheer hard work alone. It's been a painful journey letting go of the myth of meritocracy and realizing it was a concept designed to keep the oppressed down. Hard work alone is not enough. We need to tap into our soft power to truly ascend and transcend system limitations! My book writing journey is still early but I'm motivated and encouraged by promising conversations with several well-known book agents. Thank you Pouya Shahbazian and Cece Xie for introducing me to amazing literary agents, guiding me through the publishing world! Writing is the ultimate healing process. I am finding a way to transmute my corporate trauma into a creative act that will hopefully help the next generation of fully-voiced and ambitious entrepreneurs, investors, creators, and change-makers. #GoldForum #SoftPower

Powerful. Innovative. Celebratory. Hustlers. Renegades. All words that described everyone at Gold House Gold Forum last Friday. Sadly those aren’t usually the first words that come to mind when people think of Asian Americans. I’ve never been in a room of so many influential leaders, from the White House to Wall Street and Madison Ave, who are dedicated to use our collective might and resources to change the narrative and bring attention to the power of this global community. There were so many “pinch me” moments, from meeting Susie Nam and Hannah Yang to collaborating with Helen Lin, Jeannine Shao Collins, Michelle Tang, and Pooja Midha on tackling the misrepresentation of Asian American groups in advertising, to hearing Daniel Dae Kim talk about how he turned the discrimination he faced as a kid into fuel to make him an unstoppable actor and advocate. Thank you Gold House for bringing us together and creating this movement! Photo credit : Ben Rosenzweig

Gold House has done it again with their annual #GoldForum, a summit that brings together Asian American leaders at the apex of their respective fields - business, technology, politics, art, entertainment, and more - to advance our community forward. This year, the brain trust focused on concrete steps that our "benevolent mafia" can take to unlock more seats in the boardroom, earn greater cultural capital, and generate generational wealth. You know what knocks out all three of those birds with one stone? Participating in the massive political, social, and economic transformations under way to tackle climate change. The Green Industrial Revolution is in full swing, and anyone participating in it will make out like bandits. I'm committed to organizing and connecting the Asian American climate changemakers on the frontlines. There's a lot of us now - entrepreneurs building unicorn startups, policymakers paving the way for new technologies, scientists that will be called heroes someday, etc. If this is you and we haven't gotten in touch yet, please shoot me a note - our first dinner was a blast and more are sure to come. Special thanks as always to Bing Chen, Jeremy T. and the whole team for this special get-together. The future is bright with y'all in charge. P.S. What a huge treat to hear from comedian Hasan Minhaj on these issues and to catch Daniel Dae Kim in his new Broadway play Yellow Face!

I arrived back to NYC at 4 pm last Thursday after attending meetings in Budapest. I had shortened my originally planned trip to Europe so that I could attend the #GoldForum and am so glad that I did. By 6:30 pm I was in Chinatown for the Gold Apex Dinner to celebrate the launch of ForbesAPEX, a "platform dedicated to championing a global community of Asian Pacific leaders who are powering systematic change in business, culture, and society." Meeting and hearing from so many Asian Pacific leaders and trailblazers was invigorating and inspiring; at no point did I feel tired or even a bit of jet lag. I felt honored and humbled to be included among this accomplished group. Thank you to Bing Chen, Jeremy T. and the entire team at Gold House for all that you do, to our amazing panelists Maneet Ahuja, Hasan Minhaj, Viral Patel, and Faye Iosotaluno for the thoughtful insights, to Chinese Tuxedo for the delicious food and cocktails, and to The Lounge Booth for the stunning portraits! And this was just the kickoff to the main event! More to come... #GoldHouse #ForbesApex #GoldForum

Gold House Gold Forum 2024 Inspirational and uplifting way to end last week with Gold House. Jessica Sibley moderated a conversation with Daniel Dae Kim. He broke through the barriers by “doing whatever he could with opportunities he was given and seeing where it took him”. As an example, when he was on set and had time off, he would chat with staff members behind the scenes to go deeper and learn everything from A to Z in terms of how the production came together. And, love being reunited with Megan Ruan and hearing all about her amazing adventures and accomplishments leading Gold House Ventures! Thank you to Bing Chen for hosting! #aapi #goldforum
