GSFS’s goal is to provide the highest quality foster placement for foster children; GSFS provides treatment assistance for behaviorally disordered and abandoned children. To help clients that have been abused, abandoned and/or neglected, GSFS employs educated and experienced social workers who provide clients with ongoing support and information on areas such as self-concept, self-awareness, boundaries, bonding, social skills, independent living skills and issue/conflict resolution. GSFS also provides support for foster children in terms of long-range treatment planning, treatment emphasis, discipline, and behavior management. In addition, referring foster children to appropriate behavioral and therapeutic services plays an important role in achieving GSFS’s purpose. GSFS strives to help children make a successful transition into the community when they are ready to discharge from foster care.
