By letting leaves stay on the ground, you’re helping wildlife, improving soil health, and giving your yard a boost for next spring! Here’s why: Natural Fertilizer: As leaves break down, they enrich the soil, adding essential nutrients and organic matter—no need for chemical fertilizers! Support for Wildlife: Leaves provide a cozy habitat for critters like butterflies, bees, and other pollinators to overwinter. Insects that rely on leaf litter feed the birds and other animals come spring! Better Water Retention: A layer of leaves helps the soil retain moisture, reducing the need for watering and making your yard more drought-resistant. Reduce Landfill Waste: When leaves are bagged and thrown away, they take up space in landfills and break down into methane, a greenhouse gas. Leaving them where they fall is an eco-friendly choice. Consider raking them into garden beds or composting rather than tossing them—your yard and the planet will thank you! #LeaveTheLeaves #EcoFriendlyYard #FallGardening #WildlifeConservation #SoilHealth
