Promoting a shared vision is required to drive organizational learning and change. But....where do these grand visions originate? Of course, there are some geniuses out there who single-handedly dream up and proclaim a vision that aligns everyone within the company. However, more often than not, TEAMS are required to draft the organization's vision. This can be a challenging and time-consuming process. John Kotter writes in his book 'Leading Change,' "Vision creation is almost always a messy, difficult, and sometimes emotionally charged exercise."
