Shortly after our CEO Raj Ramanan's article on the importance of diversifying your last-mile carrier base was featured in the American Journal of Transportation, logistics industry expert Bart A. De Muynck confirmed the same in a DC Velocity article. “They’re [shippers] looking at more regional providers for better rates and service,” De Muynck observes. “With new players coming into the market, especially in the last mile, that has created a lot more options for shippers.” [Jitsu raises hand enthusiastically!!] Shippers looking to diversify their last-mile carriers can count on Jitsu for our outstanding on-time delivery rates and dedicated account service backed by technology. An insightful article from Esther Fung at The Wall Street Journal, but what is even more fascinating is the comments section from Esther's post. It seems that while SMB's consider price important, it doesn't always equate to the best quality. At Jitsu we hear time and again from our customers that we go above and beyond for our shippers. Looking for an alternative? Then don't look any further, we're here waiting for you!
Small and medium-sized businesses said they are delighted that UPS and FedEx are courting them, seeking to deliver their parcels. What’s most surprising? The depth of discounts. Long-time UPS customer Michael Goldblatt, whose company in Johnstown, Pa., ships tire chains, said a FedEx salesman this year offered him a double-digit percentage point discount. “They were eager and hungry,” Goldblatt recalled. The FedEx representative asked him to keep mum about the offer, and even reached over to scribble across Goldblatt’s notes when the shipper jotted numbers down, Goldblatt said. Goldblatt, whose annual shipping costs are around $500,000, ended up staying with UPS, which he said offered him an even bigger discount than FedEx. #parcels #transportation

Want to hear what they found? The survey of more than 1,000 U.S. shoppers revealed consumers’ top five home delivery pain-points: 1. Orders delivered to the wrong house or block (37%) 2. Did you know that Jitsu has had a 99+% on time delivery rate for over 8 years?! According to this survey, that's 26% higher than average!! When's the last time you paid for expedited shipping? If you're anything like me, it's been a while. I can wait the extra week to get my stuff if it means saving a bit of $$$. That's bad news for carriers like UPS and FedEx, who've definitely noticed that we're all clicking 'Free Shipping' more these days. Check out my story on it ( ?? gift link!!)

Thanks to Max Garland and Supply Chain Dive for featuring Jitsu in your latest article! "Jitsu has already added more volume this year than in all of 2023 [though] it’s unclear how much of that growth is coming from shippers drawn to Jitsu's pricing approach." said, Raj Ramanan. Jitsu works hard to make sure that our pricing is transparent and straightforward so shippers of all shapes and sizes can get their goods to consumers' doorsteps quickly and on time without breaking the bank. If you're a shipper looking to have more control of your pricing, reach out to [email protected]. #lastmiledelivery #ecommerce #retail #supplychain #logistics #peakseason

Interesting article from Digital360 on the supply chain and AI. "27% of ecommerce shippers expressed interest in deploying AI technology in transportation and route optimization projects; 22% of 3PLs said they are already planning them." Jitsu clients and their customers are already benefiting from the powerful combination of AI and terabytes of historic delivery data. AI helps us maintain our core promises of 99% on-time delivery, low shipping costs, and of course, a great delivery experience. #lastmiledelivery #ecommerce #retail #supplychain #logistics

Latest update on the 2024 short holiday season from Chain Store Age. "Last year, over 50% of holiday shopping was completed before Thanksgiving. The peak holiday period (after Cyber Monday through Christmas Eve), however, was still the busiest with 36% of shopping. This year, a late Thanksgiving leaves only 27 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas, which is five fewer shopping days compared to last year. Hanukkah is also later relative to 2023." #lastmiledelivery #ecommerce #retail #supplychain #logistics

Last week New York City Department of Transportation announced a new microhub pilot program to combat the negative environmental and safety effects of truck deliveries in congested urban areas. The release shared that the three-year microhub pilot program will provide safe, dedicated spaces for truck operators to transfer deliveries onto safer and more sustainable modes of transportation for the last leg of delivery, including e-cargo bikes, handcarts, and smaller electric sprinter vans. But did you know that Seattle was the first city to pioneer this type of project back in 2021 and that Jitsu was involved!? This is something we’re personally passionate about and our smart routing technology already factors into each delivery, making sure we’re keeping both neighborhoods and drivers safe while reducing CO2 emissions impact.?#sustainability #lastmiledelivery #logistics
