FCED was proud to partner with the VIPC | Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation to help small businesses prepare for The National Institutes of Health Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program funding. VIPC is a non-profit organization that leverages technology-driven economic strategies to help tech entrepreneurs successfully launch their businesses. Through the support of the Virginia APEX Accelerator, a vital resource for connecting businesses with government contracts, VIPC provides valuable assistance to local companies. A special thank you to VIPC’s Director of Federal Funding, Robert Brooke, and his team for hosting an informative event! Small business owners walked away with valuable insights on securing federal funding from NIH, NASA, and more.

Since 1990, the Fairfax City Economic Development (FCED) Department has been focused on ensuring a strong economic base across the City. FCED promotes the city’s office and retail spaces to business prospects; vacant commercial properties to developers; assists businesses in their location decisions and processing through the City’s administrative procedures; and acts as a facilitator for existing businesses in understanding and working through issues with city ordinances and policies. FCED also provides staff support to the Economic Development Authority (EDA). In partnership, FCED and the EDA work to foster and promote economic development and redevelopment in the City of Fairfax.
