On International Women’s Day, the GP Women’s Group participated in Sarah's Circle Circle Winter Walk, an event that raises awareness about the harsh reality of women’s homelessness during Chicago’s extreme winters. As 2025 marks our third year attending, we are proud to support the organization’s mission. Throughout the one-mile walk, participants hear real stories and learn how Sarah’s Circle is working to end homelessness for women.

GP is pleased to share news that 1900 Lawrence has received the 2025 Green Good Design Award! The awards program recognizes important examples of sustainable design around the world and is organized by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum for Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. Employers today seek premier environments that attract top talent while promoting productivity, engagement, sustainability and wellbeing. 1900 Lawrence embodies these principles with its targets for prestigious triple Platinum certification—for LEED, WELL and WiredScore ratings. The building integrates state-of-the-art features such as high-volume fresh-air ventilation, advanced air filtration systems, and a dedicated exhaust system to prevent cross-floor air mixing—ensuring optimal indoor air quality. On the seventh-floor amenities level, the fitness center and lounge spaces feature operable doors for natural airflow, opening to a landscaped outdoor terrace above the podium that offers panoramic views. On the 31st floor, a dedicated rooftop pickleball court provides an engaging way for tenants to stay active and foster community. Beyond amenities, 1900 Lawrence leads in sustainability. The building’s energy performance exceeds baseline standards by over 39%, aligning with Denver Energy Code and International Energy Conservation Code benchmarks. Water conservation is achieved through a 45% reduction in indoor water use, rainwater capture, and a green roof designed for stormwater retention. Additional sustainability measures include a 50% reduction in landscape water usage, 32 EV charging stations, and a comprehensive waste management strategy that prioritizes recycling and non-toxic materials. Advanced HVAC systems with hospital-grade air filtration, touchless controls, 24/7 security, and full ADA accessibility ensure a safe, healthy and inclusive environment.

The new expansion of the Downtown Nashville YMCA is nearing completion! As part of an overall renovation of the Y totaling 120,000 square feet, GP designed the 60,000-square-foot multilevel expansion. While continuing to meet the needs of a growing downtown, the state-of-the-art facility will feature an expanded wellness floor footprint with room for more strength training and functional fitness spaces, as well as 24-hour access to a portion of the wellness facility. The reimagined basketball gymnasium will feature wraparound, elevated views of downtown Nashville. A new rooftop deck will include a designated fitness lawn for fresh-air classes and additional wellness opportunities. Showcasing the YMCA of the USA's commitment to fostering community, several intentionally designed spaces will serve as “landing zones” throughout the facility and play host to social gatherings, training classes, meetings and more. It will feature an improved Y-Play area for children ages 6 months to 6 years and a new Youth Activity Center (YAC) designed for kids ages 7-12. The project will also feature a new indoor aquatics center, and expanded parking options include two additional parking levels. As part of larger work on the site, GP is also designing a connected multifamily residential tower, including 360 apartments, 140 condominiums and associated amenities, as well as a 517-space parking garage.

GP’s Wuhan Ping An Financial Technology City recently topped out in Wuhan, China! Developed by CR Land, the two-building complex is located along the significant Zhongbei Road corridor adjacent to Shahu Lake. Totaling more than 150,000 square meters, the project includes a 250-meter office tower and a 100-meter apartment tower. The taller office tower is located in the southeast corner of the site to anchor the main entry into the overall development while maximizing the distance between neighboring residential towers to minimize the solar impact on their facades. Primarily serving as the regional headquarters of Ping An Bank, the office tower also provides space for other tenants, as well as a banking hall and supporting retail at the base. The complex is scheduled for completion in 2026.

GP recently celebrated the grand opening of Xi’an CCBD (Centre Culture Business District), a large-scale mixed-use complex developed by China Resources Land (CR Land) in southern Xi’an. Situated along the city’s central axis, this development stands as a prominent landmark, seamlessly blending modern architecture with vibrant urban life. With prominent views of the iconic TV Tower and a landmark park to the west, Xi’an CCBD enhances the city’s skyline and urban experience. GP has completed projects with CR Land in more than 15 cities across China to-date, contributing to a diverse range of architectural projects on varying scales. Xi’an CCBD consists of four dynamic towers rising above an expansive retail base centered around the Xi’an Tree, a vertical park designed by Heatherwick studio. To the east, two 160-meter residential towers offer elegant living spaces, while two 163-meter towers to the west house premium office spaces and the Park Hyatt Xi'an. The 192-room luxury hotel offers world-class culinary and wellness experiences, as well as inspiring venues for meetings and events. At the base, the retail experience is both playful and vibrant, drawing visitors into a dynamic atmosphere. Above, the towers appear to float, their forms sculpted in harmony with the activity below. The design is subtle, ensuring that the towers complement rather than overwhelm the development, creating a balanced and unified architectural composition. Photos: ACF and Qingyan Zhu
